Who is Rico Ross?
Maurice R. Ross, most commonly known as Rico, is the Developer of Web/Network
Applications and acting Network Manager for IMSCO. In his primary role as a
Developer, he is responsible for the programming, layout and any revisions of
IMSCO's many web applications. These applications include: IMSCO's public
website, employee intranet, customer portal, help desk ticketing system and
inventory tracking system. He also maintains windows scripts that are used to
populate the company's Active Directory environment based on employee data from
IMSCO's AS/400 based HR System. In his secondary role as Acting Network Manager,
he is responsible for approving key network decisions required to ensure that
the network is safe and secure. He is also responsible for ordering and signing
off on all new equipment purchased and acts as a liaison between IMSCO and any
third-party IT related vendors.
Rico's employment with IMSCO started in 2005 as an IT Operations Supervisor
for TFE Logistics, one of IMSCO's subsidiaries. His primary function in that
role was to develop web-based applications and reports that assisted in
productivity tracking , shipment planning, inventory control and other warehouse
functions. These applications were used by warehouse associates, TFE
Managers/Supervisors, and the administrative staff of the customer, Adidas, to
make daily strategic shipping and labor management decisions. After completing a
collaborative project between IMSCO's corporate office in Augusta, Ga and the
Adidas warehouse in Spartanburg, SC, Rico was promoted and relocated to Augusta.
Prior to working at IMSCO/TFE, Rico worked a number of part-time, contract
and free lance positions for various companies and organizations in Greenville,
SC. His most notable position was in the corporate headquarters of JHM Hotels
where he developed A/R Receivables and Market Segment Revenue Tracking
applications. He also worked with Big Baby Entertainment as a contract graphic
artist and part-time studio engineer.
In his spare time, he likes to explore new technologies, study the latest
trends in graphic design and web development, learn new programming languages
and experiment with alternative operating systems on PCs and Smart Phones. He is
also the founder of undergroundblast.com, a music promotion website that allows
independent musicians to upload songs and network with other musicians and music
industry service providers. Rico currently holds as Associates degree in
Information Technology with an emphasis on Web Application Development from ECPI
College of Technology. He is also in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science Degree
in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration from Augusta State
University.
